Peru!

Middle School classes enjoyed a Power Point presentation on Peru from Parker parents Luis and Birgit. Luis is a native of Peru and Birgit has traveled extensively in the country. Presented all in Spanish, students learned about the 4 regions of Peru, traditional dances, foods and fun facts and had the opportunity to ask questions. Did you know that Lake Titicaca could be considered the highest lake in the world? And, that people and animals live on floating islands in the lake made up of plants? How about some guinea pig,? We may think "pet", but in Peru it is a delicacy enjoyed by many. Have you ever seen the "Danza de lasTijeras"? (The scissor dance) These are just a few of the interesting things we saw today. Thanks Luis and Birgit for a great morning!
